Ten Reasons to Give Amish Fiction a Try

by Suzanne Woods Fisher

www.suzannewoodsfisher.com

Be honest. Do you shudder at the thought of reading a “buggy and bonnet” book? Or assume that the readers of Amish fiction are sweet little grannies in nursing homes?

Here’s a few things that might surprise you: Amish fiction has become an industry leader for the Christian publishing market, with no signs of waning. During the recession, while large bookstore chains were shutting their doors and publishing houses were scaling back, agents and editors continued to seek Amish fiction. Nearly every Christian publisher is racing to the market with an author or two who writes Amish fiction. This sub-genre is continuing to grow. And grow and grow.

But let’s get back to you. Why should you give a book of Amish fiction a try? What’s the fuss all about? After all, there must be some reasons Amish fiction is so popular.

So here’s ten of them. Ten reasons why you should bother to give Amish fiction a try.

1) Chaste ...

Historical - Once Upon A Wicked Night by Jennifer Haymore -

ONCE UPON A WICKED NIGHT is the ebook short story special release from my Donovan Sisters Series. Each book in the series can stand alone, but they all contain references to the five Donovan sisters and their stories.

Here are the sisters:

Serena--the oldest and the biggest troublemaker, who learned the error of her ways
when she was caught in a VERY compromising position when she was eighteen years old
and has spent the past several years paying for that mistake.

Meg--Serena’s twin, lost at sea (miles off the coast of Antigua) when she was eighteen.

Olivia--The sweetest and most unassuming Donovan sister--suffers from reoccurring bouts
of malaria and never expects to find romance, least of all with a duke!

Phoebe--The most independent Donovan--makes up her mind quickly and goes after what she
wants with no regrets!

Jessica--the youngest and most beautiful Donovan sister. At 18 years old, she is loyal
to a fault and takes great risks for those she loves.

ONCE UPON A WICKED NIGHT introduces Olivia, the heroine of SECRETS OF AN ACCIDENTAL DUCHESS,
and shows how she gets herself into a bit of trouble that ends up plaguing her throughout
that ...

Fantasy / Futuristic / Paranormal - Alpha Instinct by Katie Reus -

Thanks so much for letting me blog with you today! Alpha Instinct, the first book in my new paranormal series (Moon Shifter) is releasing today and I’d love to share a sneak peek into it.

Connor’s heart pounded an erratic tattoo against his chest as he raced back for the main house. He banged on the front door, then opened it.From the entryway Analena glared at him. “What the—”

“Fire. In the west field. Not close to the buildings, but that could change.”

Wordlessly she turned and fled up the stairs. Seconds later she came barreling back down with her two sisters, Noel and Carmen. Erin wasn’t too far behind.

“What precautions do you have set up?” he asked as they jogged toward the barn housing the horses.

“I’ve got a stockade of fire extinguishers and blankets in the barn. If the fire gets out of control, we’ve got vehicles prepared to transport the animals.”

“Good. I’m going to get Liam.” Nodding, she didn’t break stride as she headed for the barn.

He’d sent his brother to round up the rest of his pack. At least the wind had shown mercy on ...
