What Superhero Power Would You Choose?
What Superhero Power Would You Choose?
Caridad Pineiro Tuesday, February 02, 2010 06:29 AM

Sins of the FleshAs some of you may know, the heroine in my latest release -- SINS OF THE FLESH -- has some unusual powers thanks to being illegally genetically engineered.

Caterina's skin can change color, she can see heat and aura signatures with her eyes and little by little the genes are replicating, making her skin glow.

Hmmm . . . .

That made us wonder here at the RomCon FF&P Forum what powers our readers would choose if they could somehow become superheroes.

As for me, I'm big on things being fair and the concept that good will always triumph over evil.  I guess that's why I grew up reading Superman and Batman comics instead of the Archie ones my sister loved.

Since being fair and accomplishing good is so important to me, I think that if I were to choose a super power, it would be super strength.  I feel as if I had such super strength I'd be able to protect those that needed help, fight the bad guys and even out all the unfair things that were happening in the world.

How about you?  What super power would you choose and why?

superpower

Hi Caridad!  A couple of years ago, after much debate, I would've said flying.  But now, the answer is easy for me.  I'd be a mystical healer, someone who could heal any wound or illness with a touch.  My husband says he'd be a Jumper.  He could teleport me all over the world and I could heal people.  That would be awesome. - M

Healing is a good one.  It would be wonderful to have that gift.  As for flying - I'd be flying around with my eyes closed since I am scared of heights!

My husband says he would like super strength.  I was going for flying until I read the above and now I also want healing - physical and mental, please!
Good choices

All good choices!  In future books in the SINS series I'm going to explore things like super-healing that comes about with the use of nanotechnology.  It's almost scary to think about all the things that science lets us do today.  Makes you wonder if maybe we are doing too much.

When I first read your comment I thought you said super-hearing.  It reminded me of the old gentleman who said that since he got his new hearing aids he had changed his will three times!
LOL on the super hearing.

How about reading people's minds?  Would anyone want that super power?

Hi, everyone ~ I love this topic! It's so fun to think about! I think I'd like telekinesis - like Jean in X-Men. Although healing powers would be wonderful. My kids and I watch the cartoon series "Avatar" and one of the water benders can heal with water. It's very cool!

Caridad ~ I definitely wouldn't want to read people's minds, but I might not mind transforming into a bug and eavesdropping! :0) Tiffany
Reading Minds

Wouldn't that be similar to super hearing OR having a party line?  How do you filter out all the ones you don't want to hear?  Telekinesis sounds like fun, but I am sticking with healing - as long as it doesn't hurt me too much :>)
