While this was a wonderful central conflict, a book it did not make. Around the same time, I read an article about men who murder their families, and I knew I had the perfect plot for Des and Shayne. I find questions of power really interesting. I have come to the conclusion that the only people who should have power are the ones who don’t want it. In the real world, unfortunately, the only people who hang on long enough in the endless battles for power are the ones who want it the most, and are willing to sacrifice the most of their souls to do it. However, I thought it might be fun to write about someone who absolutely didn’t want power, and thus is the one person who should have it.
